Coronavirus and resulting state directives shut down Catoctones appearances this spring
What looked like a very active spring for the Catoctones has now turned into a long list of missed gig opportunities and public appearances for the group.
Although CDC guidelines suggest that many of the travel and gathering restrictions may be eased in May, it’s still unsure when the Catoctones may safely resume in-person rehearsals and public appearances.
Following a successful concert featuring Street Corner Symphony and delivery of several “singing valentines” in February, other activities for the Catoctones have been put on hold including:
- National Anthem performances for the Frederick Keys and Baltimore Orioles
- Mid-Atlantic Southern Division contest
- Public appearances at the Keys-fest event, Builder’s Association Home Show, St. John’s Regional Catholic School gala and Homewood
Fortunately, a contracted show at the Baltimore Hilton in March has been rescheduled for September and is back on the Catoctones calendar.
Other potential events are still in a “wait and see” status, including Frederick Festival of the Arts, the Clustered Spires High Wheel Race, summer concert at Homewood, First Saturday and Mid-Atlantic District contest.
